United Community Bank & The Four Oaks Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Veterans Day Recognition Program on November 13th at 6:30. Two members of the Four Oaks American Legion Post 346 were honored; Bradley Palmer & Alexia Alonso. It was a beautiful service. Reverend Rodney Raby, Legion member, gave the invocation. The Four Oaks Middle School band played the National Anthem and Jr. Miss Four Oaks presented a $200.00 check to Tom Britt for our veterans. Joan Pritchett from the Four Oaks Chamber introduced each person and the Chamber provided snacks.

Four Oaks American Legion & Auxiliary Unit 346 celebrated Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 6th. Four Oaks Elementary 5th graders wrote special letters to each veteran. Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship.

Four Oaks American Legion member, Tom Britt, places an American flag and a branch of service flag outside the room of an SECU Hospice House resident. Tom and fellow Four Oaks Legionnaire, Reggie Parker, are Hospice House volunteers and are part of a team of Johnston County veterans who honor military veteran residents in We Honor Veteran Ceremonies recognizing those patients’ service in uniform to our nation. SECU Hospice House is one of very few Hospices who offer this service. More information and pictures can be seen by viewing the SECU Hospice House page.

The Four Oaks American Legion Post 346 & Auxiliary had their Memorial Day service on Sunday, May 25,2025 at the Legion building. They remembered Albert Buck, Phil Shaw and Mildred Lockett. The South Johnston Air Force JROTC posted the colors and fired the volleys. Rev. Rodney Raby was the guest speaker and Sara Boykin sang the National Anthem. It was a beautiful service.

Tom Britt and Reggie Parker of Four Oaks American Legion Post 346 presented Americanism School Awards to Four Oaks Elementary School eighth graders Brielle McCoy and Abel Everette on Tuesday, May 2025. The students are selected by eighth grade teachers for outstanding citizenship. The award consists of a certificate, a medallion, and a monetary gift. Congratulations Brielle and Abel!
