Vy Đỗ-Uyên Nguyễn — 56th Gold Award Recipient of Liên Đoàn Chi Lăng

Congratulations to Vy Đỗ-Uyên Nguyễn on receiving the Girl Scouts of the USA’s highest honor, the Gold Award, on September 28, 2026! Vy has been a Scout for 10 years and has served in various leadership roles in the Cub, Troop, and Crew of Liên Đoàn Chi Lăng.

For her Gold Award project, Vy developed a series of hands-on introductory engineering workshops for elementary school students. Her project addressed inequitable access to STEM education and aimed to build students’ confidence and inspire them to pursue engineering in the future.

Vy is currently attending UCLA, where she is studying mechanical engineering.

Congratulations to Vy and her family on this outstanding achievement! Special appreciation goes to Tr. Thiều Nguyễn and Ms. Uyên Đỗ, Vy’s parents, as well as her sisters, Lynn, a 2024 Gold Award recipient and an Eagle Scout, and Thy for their continued service to Liên Đoàn Chi Lăng and its youth.

Aiden Quốc Khương Lữ, 119th Eagle Scout of Liên Đoàn Chi Lăng.

Congratulations to Aiden Quốc Khương Lữ for receiving the highest recognition of Scouting America on February 16, 2026. Aiden graduated from La Quinta High School and will attend UC San Diego this fall. Aiden plans to major in microbiology.

Aiden joined Chi Lăng in 1st grade and has served as Crew’s quartermaster. For Eagle Scout Project Service, Aiden aimed his project at assisting the elderly with the creation of a bench when visiting his grandmother’s elderly home at Seaside Terrace. It was vital for the patrons to spend time outside instead of being indoors all the time. The bench encouraged the elderly to go outside and have a place to rest. The community appreciates the bench because the patrons now have a place to converse outdoors.

Congratulations to Aiden, Tr. Kevin Phong Lữ and Ms. Thi Đào, Aiden’s parents, and Anika Vân Lữ (an Eagle Scout) on this outstanding achievement. Our special thanks to Tr. Khanh, Tr. Cường, and Director of Seaside Terrace, Christina Salas, for their guidance and support throughout his Eagle Scout journey.

Kevin Đức Khang Vũ, 118th Eagle Scout of Liên Đoàn Chi Lăng.

Congratulation to Kevin Đức Khang Vũ for receiving the highest honor of the Scouting America on February 16, 2026.

Kevin graduated from Oxford Academy this spring and will attend Cypress College upcoming fall, where Kevin plans to major in Biology and transfer subsequently. Kevin joined Chi Lăng since 1st grade and has served as Crew's Vice President of Administration.

At the suggestion of the church's manager, Kevin renovated part of the West Anaheim United Methodist Church by building and refurbishing some benches and then replacing and trimming the garden. The garden provided a nicer, cleaner space for the local community to appreciate and the benches gave new seating for the people there during their service, programs, and celebrations.

Congratulations to Kevin and family, Tr. Vũ Đức Trung, Cô Apple Phạm and Kha Sinh Alvin Đức Anh Vũ, for the outstanding achievement. Special thanks to Tr. Khanh, Cường, and Megan for their guidance and support throughout the process. Kevin likes to express his greatest appreciation to his parents for their endless support during his Eagle Scout journey.

Sherlinn Ngọc Hoàng-117th Eagle Scout of Liên Đoàn Chi Lăng

Congratulations to Sherlinn Ngọc Hoàng for receiving the highest recognition of Scouting America on January 28, 2026, at age 16. Sherlinn has been involved in Scouting since the age of five. Over the years, Scouting has helped Sherlinn develop leadership, responsibility, and a strong commitment to serving others.

Sherlinn will be graduating from Villa Park High School on June 10, 2026. Sherlinn will attend her first year at Santiago Canyon Community College then transfer to a UC to study toward medical field.

For Sherlinn Eagle Scout Service Project, Sherlinn organized and led the creation of approximately 50 care packages for children in foster care. Sherlinn chose this project because foster youth often experience sudden transitions and may lack access to necessities and personal comfort items. Sherlinn goal was to provide essential hygiene products, blankets, and small comfort items to help meet their immediate needs while also reminding them that their community cares about them.

Sherlinn is sincerely grateful to her parents (Tr. Christine Đoàn and Jonathan Hoàng) and her brother Keandre Hoàng, also an Eagle Scout and Crew Advisor, for their constant supports and to Tr. Cường and Tr. Khanh for their guidance throughout this project.
