The results of our 2021 Headwaters Assessments are in!

Each year, San Diego River Park Foundation staff and volunteers conduct a biological field survey of the San Diego River’s headwaters to monitor the health of the River.

Here is a snapshot of the data we collected.

Thank you to the 35 amazing volunteers who helped to collect this important data!

Funding for this project was provided by California Proposition 84 from the Department of Water Resources in partnership with the San Diego County Water Authority.

Exciting day for the San Diego River! We worked hard on this project to hold off a new proposed road over the River. Instead an existing low flow crossing will be converted to an elevated bridge. The new road may still be revisited in the future. 80+ acres of river restoration and new public parks as well as much need housing.

In these unique times, CWN has decided to not hold "Watershed Day at the Capitol" in Sacramento this Spring. The massive spread of the Corona Virus has brought up concerns - especially for air travel across our large state - that motivated this determination out of an abundance of caution. We are now looking for possibly meeting in the Fall. News to come!

I will be attending this conference! Again!! The 38th Annual Salmonid Restoration Conference is March 31-April 3 in Santa Cruz, CA. We are so grateful for our many restoration partners who are making it possible to return to the Central Coast for an epic meeting! The SRF Conference Agenda packet is now online!
