From our beloved Rabbi Stephen Einstein:

The end of an era…and the beginning of a new one:This building has been the home of Congregation B’nai Tzedek since November, 1983. This evening will be our last Shabbat service in the building. Our Shaliach Tzibbur, Raymond Zachary, has created a beautiful Deconsecration ceremony. During the service, I will be leading my signature Yism’chu. Our special guest will be Rabbi-Cantor Jessica Hutchings of Congregation Ner Tamid in Henderson, Nevada. She began her path toward Jewish leadership as an undergraduate at CSULB. Serving then on our Religious School faculty, I invited her to fill in as a substitute cantorial soloist. As a result, she changed her goal from the opera stage to the Bima. Congregation B’nai Tzedek inspires people of all ages, and will continue to serve Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and surrounding communities from our new offices in Fountain Valley and service location in Costa Mesa.

In Solidarity with Our Muslim Neighbors

Congregation B'nai Tzedek is heartbroken by the hateful attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego. We send our deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and the entire community.

An attack on one house of worship is an attack on all people of faith. As a Jewish community, we stand in absolute solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters and condemn this senseless violence.

Now more than ever, we reaffirm our commitment to interfaith cooperation and mutual support in the face of all forms of bigotry.

You shall not wrong or oppress the stranger for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. You shall love each one as yourself. There shall be one law for you and for the resident stranger. Jewish tradition is clear. So too are the lessons of our history.

Join us on Friday, March 13th at 7:00PM for our annual Refugee Shabbat. Now is the time to learn, listen and affirm our core Jewish values that declare our responsibility for the dignity, humanity, and rights of all who dwell within our borders.
