On May 6, 1942, Vermont native and U.S. Army Air Force Pfc. Bernard F. Sweet was among the thousands of U.S. and Filipino servicemembers taken prisoner by Japanese forces during the fall of Corregidor Island. Sweet survived the ensuing 65-mile Bataan Death March to San Fernando, where the prisoners....

Hats off to Pete and Iceman for not only taking the time to do this event in Surprise today, but doing it on 2 wheels! 🥵
It was heartwarming to see such a big turnout with all sorts of people and neat cars to honor this century old veteran. Someone was saying that there are about 60 (out of 80,000) of these surviving Okinawa Marines left in the U.S. I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to wish him a happy birthday personally, but I have no doubt we all helped make his day pretty special driving by, honking our horns, and waving our flags. So mission accomplished!
