Elks Spotlight: Helping Students Learn While Saving the Bees

The Fountain Hills Elks Youth Program is proud to support another creative educational opportunity for local students through a grant application submitted by Natasha Berry, Resource Teacher for 2nd and 4th Grade at McDowell Mountain Elementary School.

Natasha's "Save the Bees" project combines literacy development with environmental awareness by teaching students about the critical role bees play in our ecosystem. Through reading passages, writing activities, research projects, and hands-on learning experiences, students will explore why bees are essential pollinators and discover ways they can help protect them.

Serving Those Who Served

The Fountain Hills Elks Veterans Committee is proud to share its 2025 accomplishments. Through the generosity of our members and supporters, nearly $37,000 in supplies and assistance was provided to veterans throughout Arizona, including 80 Welcome Home Kits that helped veterans transition into permanent housing.

Thank you to Veterans Committee Chairman Ralph Christofferson and all of the volunteers who donate their time, assemble kits, collect donations, and support veterans year-round.

Take a look at the newsletter below to learn more about the impact we made together.

Record Board Honors Falcon Excellence

The Fountain Hills Elks Youth Project is proud to share an exciting update from the Fountain Hills High School Track & Field program. Thanks to an Elks grant, the team recently unveiled its new Track & Field Record Board during Senior Night, creating a lasting tribute to the accomplishments of Falcon athletes.

The new record board recognizes outstanding performances by current and former athletes and provides a visible reminder of the hard work, dedication, and excellence that define the Falcon Track & Field program. The board also serves as motivation for future athletes striving to leave their mark on the program.

Track & Field Coach Andrea Hall led the effort to bring the project to life and celebrated the unveiling with athletes, families, alumni, and community supporters. Representing the Fountain Hills Elks Youth Project at the event were Sue and Mike Modrak, who attended the unveiling and witnessed firsthand the impact this project will have on student-athletes for years to come.

The Fountain Hills Elks Youth Project is honored to support programs that recognize student achievement and inspire future generations. Congratulations to Coach Andrea Hall, the Track & Field athletes, and everyone who helped make this project a reality.
