🇺🇸 The 2026 Fountain City Hometown Heroes banners are officially up around town! 🇺🇸

We are so thankful the rain held off long enough for our volunteers to safely complete the installation today.

A huge thank you to the Fountain City Police Department for helping keep everyone safe during the process — from traffic support to literally helping steady the lift when we needed to extend farther to reach one of the poles. 💙

These banners honor the men and women who have served our community and our country through military service, law enforcement, and fire service. We are proud to recognize their service throughout Fountain City from now through Veterans Day.

As Memorial Day weekend begins, we also pause to remember those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Thank you to all of our Hometown Heroes, and thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸

The Williamsburg Alumni will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Williamsburg School Alumni on June 6th.

At 1PM, the building will be open as well as area tractors will be on display on the grounds. The museum and other portions of the building will be opened and there will be other historical displays in the gymnasium.

At 5 PM, there will be a special program and meal to show off the building. Door prizes will be awarded for those in attendance.

A catered meal will be provided by Willie & Red's. Cost would be $20 for the meal and reservations must be sent ahead of time to Robert Frazer, 3208 NW C ST in Richmond.

Special music by Ryan and Rose, a duo from Ohio, from 5:45-6:30.

Come see us today, May 2, 2026, at the Northeastern Music Boosters Mother’s Day Market in the Northeastern Middle School Gym!

We’ll have our Fountain City My Hometown T-shirts and Old Newport Recipes historical cookbooks available.

There are so many great local vendors with beautiful gifts for the moms, grandmas, aunts, and all the amazing women in your life. 💐

🌙🐾 UPDATE: Bark Side of the Moon is on the move! 🐾🌙

Our Bark Side of the Moon 5K Glow Run & Pet Walk is usually a spring event… but this year, we’re switching things up!

📅 New Date: October 17, 2026

Same glowing fun… just a different time of year ✨

We’re excited to bring this event to the fall season 🍂—and who knows… we might even add a few spooky touches 👻 (costumes, anyone? 🐶🎃)

🇺🇸 Hometown Heroes 2026 Update 🇺🇸

We still have a few spaces remaining for the 2026 Hometown Heroes Banner Program—but not much time left.

In order to have banners designed and submitted for printing, we are on a tight timeline. If you’ve been thinking about honoring a local military member or first responder, now is the time to get your application in.
