A big shoutout to Mercy Health for their generous donation to Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad (MESA)!
What may be considered surplus here in the U.S. can be state-of-the-art in developing countries, and thanks to MESA’s incredible work collecting, organizing, and shipping medical supplies globally, these items will soon be helping those who need them most.
👏 Thank you, Mercy Health, for your commitment to improving health far beyond our local communities!
Lima, Ohio USA — Mercy Health donated six incubator/warmer beds and two wheelchairs to Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad, a project of Rotary District 6600, which has 58 clubs in Northern Ohio, including the Rotary Club of Lima.
The GE Healthcare OmniBeds give an infant uniform heat, regardless of position. It will be shipped out later this month.
The second-hand surplus in the United States is often state-of-the-art in developing countries, according to a press release. MESA collects, sorts, identifies, stores and ships millions of dollars of usable medical supplies and equipment to countries around the world that need them.
