Connecting People to Opportunity

At United Way of Fostoria, strengthening our community also means helping people move toward greater stability and independence.

Our upcoming **Fostoria Job Fair on September 30** brings local employers, hiring agencies and job seekers together in one place. These connections can open the door to employment, dependable income and a stronger future for local individuals and families.

This is our mission in action—identifying a community need, bringing the right partners together and helping our neighbors access opportunities that can change lives.

When local organizations work together, our entire community grows stronger.

What Is a Workplace Campaign?

A workplace campaign is simple: employees give together, often through payroll deduction, and many employers match a portion of what's raised. It's one of the easiest ways for a business to invest in Fostoria without adding a line item to the budget.

United Way of Fostoria has run on workplace giving since 1957 — it's still one of the most powerful ways local businesses show up for their own community.

New Giving Levels, Same Fostoria Generosity

For the first time in more than 15 years, United Way of Fostoria has updated the Frank J. Kinn Leadership Society giving levels — from Founders ($25,000+) down to our brand-new 365 Small Business Circle ($365, or $1/day) for businesses with five or fewer employees.

Every level is a real way to lead. Every donor, at every level, is recognized.

Food insecurity means not always knowing where your next meal will come from or having reliable access to enough nutritious food. Across the country, nearly **1 in 5 households with children** experiences food insecurity. ([USDA data summary](https://www.ers.usda.gov/topics/food-nutrition-assistance/food-security-in-the-u-s))

That is why our upcoming **Stuff the Bus** collection is such an important part of United Way of Fostoria’s mission. By bringing our community together to collect food and essential items, we help strengthen local food resources and ensure more of our neighbors have support when they need it.

Every item donated stays local and represents more than food—it provides relief, dignity and hope to a family facing a difficult season.

Together, we can Stuff the Bus and help fill the gap for our neighbors.

What Is a Lead Gift, and Why Does It Matter?

Our 2026 Campaign opened at 60% of goal because a small group of community leaders and local businesses stepped up early with lead gifts totaling $150,000.

Lead gifts set the pace. They tell the rest of Fostoria: this campaign is worth believing in, and worth joining.

Every Saturday through the campaign, we'll be spotlighting the lead donors and workplace partners making this season possible.
