It's Parade Day!

Please be advised that on-street parking along Main Street, from North Street to South Street, will be prohibited beginning at 3:00 PM today.

The parade kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by the costume contest outside the Police Department at the corner of Tiffin and Main Streets.

With beautiful weather in the forecast, it's the perfect day to get out, enjoy the festivities, and celebrate our community. We hope to see you there!

Here is our 2026 Leaf Collection Schedule! Please be sure to place your leaves in biodegradable paper bags before placing them at the curb.

We will not collect plastic trash bags.

Halloween fun is coming to downtown Fostoria this Sunday, October 25!

Get those costumes ready and bring the family downtown for an evening of community fun!

Annual Halloween Parade | 5 p.m.
Watch floats, bands, emergency service vehicles and more make their way down Main Street starting at North Street and ending at South Street.

Costume Contest | Immediately After the Parade
Meet in the Police Department yard at 213 S. Main Street, at the corner of Tiffin and Main, for your chance to take home a trophy! Our Fostoria Glass Court will judge, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies in each age division:

• Ages 0–3
• Ages 4–6
• Ages 7–9
• Ages 10–12
• Ages 13–17
• Ages 18+

No preregistration required

Fostoria First Church of God will host a post-parade Harvest Party on Tiffin Street, with games and food for families to enjoy! The Fostoria Historical Society will have apple c***r and donuts and our Police and Fire Departments will also be set up after the parade to hand out more candy (thanks to a generous donation made by ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital!) 🍭🚓🚒

⚠️ Help Us Keep Everyone Safe
Please keep a close eye on your children and remind them to stay out of the parade’s path, even when they spot candy! Parade participants have been instructed to hand candy to spectators or gently roll it toward the curb instead of throwing it. We know everyone will be excited, and your help will keep the evening safe and fun for all!

Registration for the 2026 Fostoria Halloween Parade officially closed on Friday, but we're reopening it for a few more hours!

📢 NOVEMBER CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE CHANGE

Please be advised that the first City of Fostoria Council meeting in November, originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, November 4, 2026, due to Election Day.

The City of Fostoria is accepting applications for a Parks/Cemetery Laborer to help maintain our parks and cemetery grounds.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, planting, landscaping, assisting with burial site preparation, and operating and maintaining power tools and equipment.

Applicants must have:
• Experience using power tools and equipment
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• The ability to perform heavy lifting and physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Basic computer skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Professional and courteous communication skills

The selected candidate must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months of their hire date. The City will provide assistance with the required training and classes.

Previous experience in maintenance or a labor-intensive role is preferred

Do you have scrap tires in need of disposal?

SCGHD and the City of Fostoria will be hosting a FREE scrap tire recycling event on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Foundation Park, 1225 S. Union St., Fostoria.

Seneca County residents can bring a maximum of 10 tires on or off the rim, and could include passenger/light truck tires or semi-truck tires/tractor tires under 36 inches in diameter. There is no cost for residents of Seneca County, but proof of residency or property ownership will be required.

Fostoria Trick-or-Treat: Saturday, October 31, from 5:30–7 p.m.

Please drive slowly, stay alert, and watch for children and families crossing streets on trick-or-treat night. If you are a resident handing out candy, be sure to leave your porch light on so our trick-or-treaters know to stop!
