We’re proud to join the Seven Days in June campaign, a national call to elevate healthcare as a priority for our elected representatives.

Here are our four priorities we are asking legislators address:

✅ Improve affordability and access to care and treatment.
✅ Sustain and strengthen biomedical research.
✅ Protect and modernize domestic and global public health infrastructure.
✅ Provide stability for seniors, veterans, rural communities, people with disabilities, working families and others reliant on accessible, affordable health care.

During these seven days, let’s honor those we have lost and make healthcare our number one priority!

Big Tech is giving your boss the tools to surveil you and your work output. 🕵🏻‍♂️

Billionaires are using their employees’ private data, including keystrokes and mouse movements, to train AI replacements, and we won’t stand for it. That’s why we are joining with the California Federation of Labor Unions, AFL-CIO, to sponsor legislation that fights back against employers using AI to spy on their workers and eliminate good-paying jobs.

💡 Bills You Need to Know About:
📝 Assembly Bill 1883: This bill would prevent employers from using invasive, exploitative and potentially biased AI surveillance technology to monitor their employees.
📝 Assembly Bill 2027: This bill would ban your boss from using your data, such as computer keystrokes or phone conversations, to train an artificial intelligence for the purpose of replacing you.

🚨Join the picket line tomorrow!🚨

This Thursday, May 14, our brothers, sisters, and siblings at AFSCME Local 3299, the University of California service and patient care workers, are launching their first ever open-ended Unfair Labor Practices strike and they need our solidarity!

UC workers deserve better than second-class treatment from the second-largest employer in California. UC continues to break the law, making it impossible for workers to get the contract that they deserve.

The California Federation of Labor Unions, AFL-CIO, has granted statewide strike sanction to AFSCME Local 3299 for the open-ended strike. The pickets will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday to Friday, beginning tomorrow!

The AFL-CIO has released its 35th annual Death on the Job report, and the newest data is alarming. Workplace hazards kill approximately 140,000 workers each year in the United States. That’s more than 380 workers each day.

These findings make it clear that we need to do more to keep workers safe. But the Trump administration is doing the opposite by gutting funding for the agencies responsible for job safety: the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). Just this year, the administration has:

❌ Reduced staffing at these critical agencies, leaving fewer inspectors to cover a growing workforce.
❌ Instructed inspectors to focus on employer outreach and assistance, rather than inspections with citations.
❌ Reduced fines for corporations that violate OSHA rules.
❌ Stopped conducting MSHA impact inspections at mines with a poor history of compliance.
❌ Sought to eliminate worker safety and health training grants.

These deaths are preventable, but the Trump administration’s policies coupled with the gutting of workplace safety agencies will only increase the numbers workers we lose on the job.
