California is reporting a higher-than-expected number of cyclosporiasis cases this summer. The intestinal illness is typically contracted through contaminated food or water and can cause prolonged gastrointestinal symptoms.

CMA physicians voted to endorse Prop. 3, which would permanently extend CA's existing tax on the state's highest-income earners to protect funding for Medi-Cal and other essential health care services.
