Our members in Plains Township are selling apparel for Halloween time! All proceeds made from the shirts will go towards the Coats for Solomon program which purchases winter coats for area children in need.

A fire has broken out at the Wyoming Area Catholic School; students and the facility have been evacuated.

The Wyoming Valley run will step off two weeks today, with expected lane restrictions and road closures happening from Pittston through Wilkes Barre. A large chunk of the race will take place on Wyoming Ave. from West Pittston to the Market St. bridge in Kingston. The race kicks off at 6am with registration and will continue through 1pm.

We ask that you plan your travel accordingly, with alternative routes ⤴️⤵️ utilized. If you live along the route, don’t be afraid to offer the runners some encouragement.

Please use caution ⚠️ if you must travel in the area, the safety of all participants, staff, volunteers and the public is paramount for the success of the race.

As our nation celebrates 250 years of freedom, resilience, and service, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day.

If your celebration includes fireworks, please remember that safety comes first. Always follow local laws, keep a safe distance from others, have a water source readily available, and never allow children to handle fireworks. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is by attending a professionally conducted display.

Today, we also recognize and thank the dedicated firefighters, EMS providers, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, healthcare professionals, military members, public works employees, utility crews, and all essential personnel who are serving our communities while others celebrate. Your commitment, professionalism, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

To all of those on duty today, we wish you a safe tour and hope you return home to your families at the end of your shift.
