📣 A Friendly Reminder from Your Dana Elementary Center PTO 📣
We know this school year is beginning with a lot of change. With families transitioning into Dana, information such as classroom assignments, bus schedules, orientation details and other important updates have come together very quickly. We completely understand that this can be frustrating— especially for families trying to prepare their children for a brand new school and a brand new routine.
We are asking everyone to extend a little grace as families, teachers, staff, administrators and students all navigate this transition together. There are a lot of moving pieces and everyone involved is adjusting.
We also want to clarify something about this page and the role of the PTO.
We are volunteers.
The PTO does not determine classroom assignments, bus schedules, orientation dates, school policies, staffing or when information is released. When the school provides us with information that may be helpful to our families, we are happy to share it here as an additional way to help get the word out.
Sharing information does not mean the PTO made the decision behind it.
We absolutely understand that parents may have questions, concerns and frustrations. However, negativity or disrespect directed toward our teachers, faculty, staff, administration or PTO volunteers will not be tolerated on this page. Concerns regarding school or district decisions should be directed to the appropriate person or department so they can actually be addressed.
Our PTO is here because we care about our students. We volunteer our time to raise funds, provide activities and opportunities for the kids, support our school community, and help wherever we can.
There are a lot of new faces joining Dana this year, and we want everyone to feel welcome. We are all on the same team and our kids are watching how we handle change.
Let’s give one another some patience, kindness and grace as we get this school year started.
Welcome to Dana. Let’s make it a great year. ❤️💛
