After a week of spring-like conditions, we are back to rain and snow. Watch for snowplows and give them plenty of room. Slow down, stay alert, and increase your following distance. Check the road reports before traveling, especially over mountain passes.

The committee tasked with reviewing and updating the Bylaws of The Trego Fortine Stryker Volunteer Fire Department will convene for their next meeting on February 19th at 7 pm at the Fortine fire Station, located at 11020 Highway 93 in Fortine. Meetings will continue each Wednesday evening at 7 pm unless otherwise noted or a cancellation occurs.

There is an expectation that the incoming storm will pose challenges for residents and emergency responders alike. Please use caution and take extra effort to prevent this weather event from becoming your emergency.
Lincoln County is under an emergency travel order. If you are safe at home please remain there. There are multiple trees down which could delay emergency responders so please be patient
Exercise extra caution with heating sources, candlees, chainsaws, ladders and every other activity. If you can wait for conditions to improve please do so

Here is some important information regarding power outage.
In addition please remember
When using generators and alternate heat sources be aware that they produce carbon monoxide gas which is colorless and odorless ( you cannot smell it) but is often fatal.
Use caution when using heat sources to thaw and protect plumbing especialy when those heat sources produce an open flame
Remember that wood stoves and other heat sources that use a blower to move air to cool the device can not always be safely used without electricity.
Finally remember to turn off alternate heat, and check heating systems thoroughly before placing them back in service after an outage.

🚨Attention!! ⚠️⚠️ There was a semi truck stuck in the highway at Stryker please avoid the area, if you need to go through plan for extended delays! ⚠️⚠️
