YDI Summer Internship Program Off to a Strong Start! ☀️
We kicked off our YDI Summer Youth Internship with an incredible group of 30 mentors and mentees, and the momentum has been strong since day one! 🙌🏽
Our first week of orientation focused on team building, icebreakers, pairing, goal setting, and creating a strong foundation for success. ✨ 🌞💪🏽

In week two, participants jumped into meaningful activities, including:
✨personal development
🙌🏽cultural enrichment
🪴 garden/elder day initiatives
With "make-up hour Mondays," our youth are giving back through community beautification projects. 👏

These experiences are building confidence, strengthening connections across generations, and empowering our youth to lead with purpose. ♥️ ♾️

We're so proud of their dedication and excited for what's ahead! 👣🗣️🪢

🪶 Sitting Bull Honor Ride • Community Gathering 🪶

Tomorrow, Standing Rock CDC is honored to welcome our relatives from the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes as they join us to share stories, teachings, and insight into the upcoming Tatanka Iyotake Honor Ride.

This gathering is an opportunity to come together in a good way. To listen, learn, and honor the legacy of Sitting Bull.

A traditional meal will be served, and we will close in prayer as we hold in our hearts the seven generations before us and the seven generations yet to come.

We invite all community members to join us. Sitting Bull descendants, elders, knowledge keepers, youth, and families. We share space for everyone.

We’re excited to invite the community to join us today from 4 PM – 6 PM (04.22.26) as we celebrate the reopening of this shared growing space!

You can find us at 313 Beldon St, Fort Yates, ND, located behind the Sioux County Extension Office and Sioux County Building.

This is more than just a garden. It’s a place for connection, learning, and access to fresh, healthy food for everyone.

As we continue rebuilding and planting, these hoop houses are open for community use. Whether you want to learn, help, or simply be part of something meaningful, there’s a place for you here.

This space will thrive with all of us involved. Your time, care, and presence truly make the difference.

Join Standing Rock Community Development Corporation for the launch of our revitalized Community Hoop House Garden 🌱

In partnership with NDSU Extension: Sioux County and the Sioux County Commission, we’re proud to bring this space back to life for our community. This garden will support future initiatives like meal kit distribution, cooking classes, and community produce days—and we welcome collaboration along the way.

🌿 What to expect:
• Hoop house tour
• Hands-on planting (seedlings + starters)
• Composting demo + garden updates

💚 Want to stay involved? Volunteer with us!
Starting April 28, the garden will be open Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12–4 PM.
