Holmeward Bound Rescue Pet Transport

Throughout their decades of rescue work, Dave and Lisa saw a recurring
challenge: animals needing safe, reliable transport to reach
foster or furever homes.

Holmeward Bound operates as a non-profit devoted to offer no cost transport services. Dave and Lisa Holmes have dedicated the last 25 years to pet rescue,
working tirelessly to give animals in need a second chance. What began as a small personal mission quickly grew into a lifelong commitment to protecting and caring for vulnerable pets. Throughout their decades of rescue work, Dave and Lisa saw a

recurring challenge: many animals needed safe, reliable transportation to reach foster homes, medical care, or their forever families. Recognizing this urgent gap in the rescue community, they expanded their mission to focus not only on saving animals, but also on ensuring they can get where they need to go. Today, their organization operates as a non-profit devoted transport services. With compassion at the heart of everything they do, Dave and Lisa continue to advocate for animals, support fellow rescuers, and help pets find safety, health, and loving homes—one journey at a time.

We were able to help Weatherford Wags with a transport from Aledo to Ennis where Mighty Mutt Shipping picked up Smitten, (who we also call Smitty), on his way to his new furever home in MAINE!!! Congratulations Smitty! He was such a great boy on the trip, a real sweetheart! We miss him already and we only knew him about 90 minutes ❤️🐾

North Texas Gives To Animals will kick off at Thursday, May 14th (tonight at midnight). Every dollar donated to Holmeward Bound will go toward supporting the transporting of rescue dogs to their new furever homes and save rescues the expense of transport!!

To kick off the event on Thursday, May 14, the first $100,000 in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our presenting partner The Gigi Gartner Charitable Foundation Fund, along
with sponsors Haroon Alvi and Nancy Cozzie Fund and Communities Foundation of Texas.

Another transport before we became "official". This adorable fella is named Kelce and he was rescued out of the Weatherford shelter three years ago, and transported to his foster, now furever home. Thankfully, he is part of our family since Margaret Pennington fostered him and added him to the family permanently!!
