This beautiful boy looks so much like his mother. He has her long, long eyelashes, her smile, and her zest for life. I also see her in his deeply contemplative face, and I often wonder what insights he has locked away behind those soulful expressions.

I was talking with Talia's mom this morning about the upcoming motions docket that will be happening on Monday at 9:30 am in the murder case against Elijah Jacobo. I told her when this is all done, we should write a self help book for the 0.006% of Americans that have to navigate these extraordinary circumstances. I don't think it would be a best seller...

But surprisingly, and sadly, there is indeed a list of books about the topic. I think I might pick up a couple and do a review.

As we finished up at the apartment today, we had some tears, but some happy memories as well. This one is a happy one, it's the Christmas party dress! She was feeling herself for her work Christmas party, and that's the picture you probably have seen the most of her. The picture was Talia approved. 🤣

It's been 5 weeks since Talia was killed. We were finally given permission to enter her apartment to see what was left. Not much to the unknowing, uncaring eye... But we never cared about the stuff anyways. We were looking for Talia.

We found her in the Christmas tree that was still there, left up because Talia knew how much Levi loved looking at the Christmas lights. The books she read, dog eared, highlighted and book marked ranging in topic from pregnancy and motherhood to topics of her faith. The bag of her gym equipment, because she loved to keep active.

We all got something that we could remember her by. I took her books on matters of faith. Her mom took keepsakes for Levi and items that were personal to her like Talia's perfume. Tomorrow we will finish with this chapter of sorting through her earthly possessions.

Please continue to keep her family in your prayers.

We just got word that the custody appearance for Venus, Sixto and baby Levi went very well for all involved. The Sanchez family will retain custody of Levi, and his paternal grandparents will have standard visitation of a child under 3, which is a good thing for Levi. He will have a regular home, a home that has been open to him in the months before and now will be a bastion of love, support, and stability for him in the future.

It is a good feeling to know that everyone involved truly does want what is best for Levi, and what Levi needs is to know that he is loved by all of his Grandparents.

I believe Talia would be happy with today's results.
