Our AIR Defenders had a great time on our field trip this morning to the Nature Expo! The rain didn’t stop us! Prancer showed everyone how to literally prance right through it! We learned so much about native plants and animals. We were assured that the animal skins and skulls were from animals that lived long happy lives and died of natural causes. We learned about how different birds have and use different types of beaks, how to identify various insects, and we even met some baby box turtles!

Join us next month as we explore and learn all about BATS 🦇 ! https://animalinvestigationresponse.ddock.gives/?givingPageId=41534018-343c-40b9-9a6c-10b940a12bbb

From quiet hours of evidence review to earning the trust of an ornery rooster named Stewy during a 350-bird cockfighting seizure — this is what emergency animal cruelty response really looks like.

Every response follows 3 rules: responder safety, animal safety, case integrity. .

Before this role existed, agencies had to wait for AIR's help. Now? Hours instead of days. That's the power of a dedicated Emergency Services Manager.

⏰ Hurry — get your gift matched and DOUBLED! Thanks to a $10,000 matching gift from M**f & Real Musgrave, every dollar you give goes twice as far.

This year, AIR responded to some of the toughest cases we've ever seen — 36 cats rescued from overcrowded conditions in Bedford, the largest cruelty case in Keene's history, 350+ game birds pulled from a cockfighting operation, and more. All at no cost to the agencies who called us.

One of the animals from that Keene case was Ivy — deaf, possibly visually impaired and found in an inhumane environment we can't even guess how long she endured. She won hearts fast, watching quietly and giving kisses freely once it was her turn for care.

Thanks to a wonderful placement partner, Ivy found her people. She is in a new loving home, warm and cozy. 🎉

Stories like hers are only possible because AIR hired our first-ever Emergency Services Manager this year — a change that's already doubled our impact.

Your gifts right now are matched and DOUBLED! Thanks to a $10,000 matching gift from M**f & Real Musgrave, every dollar you give today goes twice as far.

Give now so we can keep showing up for the ones who need us most!

What changes when emergency animal cruelty response becomes someone's job—not just something they do when they can get away from their day job?
Everything.

AIR receives approximately 120–150 hours of emergency-services work in a typical month. During one major case, that number topped 200 hours, including nine consecutive days in the field.

That's why Kerri's position matters.

She is AIR's first Emergency Services Manager and Animal Cruelty Investigator—helping AIR respond to agencies faster, coordinate volunteers, develop seizure plans, review evidence and build the partnerships needed when animals are in crisis.

Through North Texas Giving Day, we're asking our community to help sustain this role.

Because emergency calls don't wait for someone to get off work.

Read Kerri's Day in the Life and learn why investing in this role means investing in AIR's ability to respond: https://animalinvestigationandresponse.org/2026/09/16/why-this-work-needs-to-be-someones-job/

Gifts are also still being MATCHED dollar for dollar thanks to M**f & Real Musgrave. Be sure to give now so your impact goes twice as far!

When you see an animal in crisis, the instinct is to help.
But what if helping means saying no?

For AIR Emergency Services Manager Kerri, every emergency response starts with three priorities:

Responder safety. Animal safety. Case integrity.
That can mean requiring specialized protective equipment before entering a hoarding situation.

It can mean limiting the number of people who can safely handle an animal.
And sometimes, it can mean waiting—even when everyone desperately wants to act immediately.

This is the expertise that Kerri brings to AIR as our first Emergency Services Manager and Animal Cruelty Investigator.

Through North Texas Giving Day, we're working to sustain this role so AIR can continue providing experienced, professional guidance when agencies and animals need it most.

Thanks to M**f & Real Musgrave, your gifts are now being matched up to $10,000! That means your support will be doubled and make two times the impact!
