The reason we love partnering with our Fort Worth Police Department. They help instill empathy in our children. Empathy is the most difficult to instill in a human, especially when they were exposed to multiple physical and emotional challenges. Our Fort Worth Police Department does a great job of meeting kids where they are and sharing with them what police work is truly about in Fort Worth Texas. We look forward to their visit every summer during camp. Thank you Fort Worth Police Department.

Recently, a former FWPD officer reached out to our Fort Worth Cops for Kids to tell us about his neighbor, Emma. Since the age of three, Emma has dreamed of becoming a police officer. The now 7-year-old Emma, recently began chemotherapy for treatment for lymphoblastic leukemia. Knowing she needed support, we arranged for a group of our female officers to surprise her.
Officers Oleksy, Castro, Espinoza, St. Clair, Bel Haddad and our Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) K9 Echo visited Emma in her room, bringing along a police Build-A-Bear for her! Though initially shy, Emma lit up with a big smile when she saw K9 Echo, who rested her head on the hospital bed, comforting Emma and helping her open up.
Her parents expressed that they had not seen her smile like that in weeks, and that the moment left a lasting impact on the entire family.
Your Fort Worth Police Department family is standing behind you, future Officer Emma! Keep fighting hard!
