Monday night was a great one at Castleberry Elementary! We teamed up with the ACE Program for a family workshop, and the turnout was amazing. Big thanks to Heather Knight for pulling it all together, to the families who came out to learn, and to the staff who made it extra special with hot dogs and treats. 🌭🙂

What a privilege to join parents and teachers at Young Men's Leadership Academy last night to talk about what it means for their scholars to be on grade level and how families can find and understand that information.

Thank you, YMLA PTSA, for having us! 💙

A good read on what grades do and don't tell us about how our kids are doing, and it features Tarrant County parents! This is exactly what we discuss during our webinars and workshops. Join us for our next online learning event on October 26. Details in the comments.

Grades can give the false impression that students are on track. A Learning Heroes survey suggests parents are beginning to question what schools tell them.

Each month, we team up with Literacy Fort Worth for Beyond Grades: Parent Action Hour, a free webinar with actionable info and practical tips for supporting your child's learning. Last night, Marci Houseman of rinnalla shared five ways to build reading skills without a book, using everyday moments like car rides and dinner. Her handout is below!

Have a 4th grader? Our next Parent Action Hour is just for you! Your child may be eligible for $400 in reading tutoring through the state-funded PASS program. Save the date for Monday, October 26 at 6:00 PM to find out if you qualify and get help submitting your application.
