**Fort Worth needs MORE outlets for cats and dogs — not fewer.**

Our shelters and rescues are already stretched beyond their limits. Reducing the number of lifesaving options available will place an **insurmountable burden on local rescues** and could force organizations that are already hanging on by a thread to close their doors.

Every rescue, shelter, foster, volunteer, and adopter plays a critical role in keeping animals safe. **We need more resources, more lifesaving capacity, and more solutions — not fewer.**

Fort Worth’s animals deserve better. 🐾

Hi-I’m Achilles! I’m an active, playful 2-3-year-old boy who loves being part of the action! I’m very social and vocal, and I always want to be near my people and involved in whatever they’re doing.

I love scratch pads and string toys, and playtime is definitely one of my favorite things. I also have a funny little preference when it comes to my bathroom routine—I need two litter boxes because I like to use one for each purpose. Hey, a guy likes to have standards!

Id be happiest as the only cat in the home so I can soak up all the attention, but I can do well with mellow, respectful dogs.

✨ Happy news and an important reminder! ✨

Senior cats are so often overlooked while kittens get all the attention. But older cats have so much love to give. They’re usually calmer, already know the ropes, and are happiest spending their days cuddled up with their favorite human. ❤️🐱

Today we’re celebrating a very special happy ending... **Gordita has officially been adopted by her amazing foster mom!** 🎉 We are beyond excited for her and couldn’t be happier that she found the forever home she deserves.

As we celebrate Gordita, we hope you’ll keep an open heart for the senior cats still waiting. They may have a little gray on their whiskers, but they have a lifetime of love left to share. Sometimes the best companions are the ones who have been waiting the longest. 🐾
