The 2026 APHA Eastern National Championship Show is bringing more than championship competition to Wilmington, Ohio! 🎉

Check out the activities happening throughout the week:

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 🤝
Teams will consist of one Open, one Amateur and one Youth rider, with a maximum of 10 teams. The two highest-placing teams will take home prizes.
Sign-ups open at noon Tuesday, August 18. Team Challenge teams will be announced following Ride the Pattern.

Youth exhibitors can join the fun in two age divisions: 13 & Under and 14–18. The winner of each division will receive a DeNiro Boot Co. certificate!

A run worth its weight in gold. 🥇

Golden Coins and Kole Price rewrote the reining record books at The Run For A Million with a 237.5, the highest score ever recorded in the sport, to claim the $500,000 championship.

The 2020 bay overo stallion is by Spooks Gotta Gun and out of Electric Cha Ching (QH). He is owned by Coin Toss LLC and was bred by Silver Spurs Equine.

Beast Mode: activated at The Run For A Million. 🔥

Three Paints finished inside the Top 5 of The Run For A Million Open Shootout, punching their tickets to the 2027 The Run For A Million.

Casey Deary and 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐧 𝐈𝐜𝐞 claimed the Open Shootout crown with a 230.5, earning a $29,154 paycheck. The 2021 solid sorrel stallion by SG Frozen In Enterprize (QH) and out of TR Pats Silver Whiz is owned and bred by Amy Medows.

Peter DeFreitas and 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐘𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐬 secured the fifth and final qualifying spot with a 228.5, earning $10,140.73. The 2018 solid sorrel stallion by Gunnatrashya and out of One Mighty Aphrodite (QH) is owned and bred by Double Run Farm.

The Run For A Million 🤝 Paint Horses in the cutting pen

The $250,000 Cutting Horse Challenge at the 2026 The Run For A Million featured some of the world’s top cutting horses and riders, with one run and one opportunity to make it count.

Adan Banuelos and Beau Galyean each marked a 224 aboard their Paints to earn $36,000 apiece and the co-reserve champion titles during the Cutting Horse Challenge.

Adan Banuelos rode 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐳𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭, a 2021 red roan solid stallion by Reyzin The Cash and out of Metallistic (QH), owned by Kate Banuelos. Beau Galyean rode 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐲𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐝, a 2020 sorrel solid stallion by Stevie Rey Von and out of Sweet Abra (QH), owned by Fults Ranch LTD.

Drummers Tinker Bell wins MVP honor at 2026 IEA Western National Finals 👏

The 2014 dun tobiano mare Drummers Tinker Bell earned the Most Valuable Paint award at the 2026 IEA Western National Finals.

Drummers Tinker Bell is by Gay Bar Drummer and out of Tru Gay Bar Ebony. She was bred by Joni Voloshin and is owned by Mark & Lori Cross. She was provided by Girl Scouts of San Jacinto for the competition.
