Fort Worth TAAP TAAP seeks to promote the advancement of Addiction Professionals by uniting alcoholism and other addiction counseling professionals throughout Texas.

TAAP organizes and charters local chapters in Texas, and assists in stabilizing and increasing their membership. By means of legislative initiatives, promotional campaigns and professional networking opportunities, TAAP will promote awareness of the disease of chemical dependency and other addictions and compulsive behaviors. The Fort Worth Chapter of TAAP offers scholarships each year. These are available to students attending an accredited school and are engaged in studies leading towards being licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Texas or a current Fort Worth TAAP member working towards a Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree in the Behavioral Health field (Counseling, Social Work, Human Service Technology, etc.) The application period in 2024 is 01/15/24 - 05/01/2024.

Nominations for the 2024 Fort Worth TAAP Counselor of the Year are now available. All nominations must be submitted by May 1, 2024, in order to be considered.
Nominate someone today! This award recognizes a counselor in the field of addiction treatment who has worked in the trenches with clients and their families, and who has contributed to their industry, community, and the TAAP organization in the true spirit of recovery.

The NBCC Foundation is pleased to announce the application period for the 2024 donor-funded awards.

Up to 13 doctoral- and master’s-level counseling scholarships are available for current counseling students. Scholarship award amounts range from $5,000 to $10,000 for educational support!

Up to 5 master’s scholarships for active duty, veteran, or military spouse counseling students
Up to 5 master’s scholarships for counseling students in a rural area
One master’s scholarship for counseling students living in New Jersey
One master’s scholarship for an undocumented or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) counseling student
One doctoral scholarship for counseling students focused on research and/or testing that strengthens the profession of counseling.

The application deadline for all awards is Dec. 31, 2023.
