Fort Worth Odd Fellows Lodge #251 The Odd Fellows is a 200 year old world-wide organization dedicated to doing good in the world. Known as Poly by locals, in the 1850s.

Fort Worth Lodge was granted its charter on August 2. 1928, and was originally formed in an area of Fort Worth, Texas, located on the southeast side; known as Polytechnic Heights. In the 1930s area was a place for faculty housing for Texas Wesleyan University. The Forth Worth ISD offered to buy the original lodge for an expansion, at which time Polytechnic moved their meeting location to the downt

own Fort Worth area; and combined with other lodges to become Fort Worth Lodge #251. Like many Odd Fellow Lodges throughout the country Fort Worth Lodge #251 has adapted to meet the needs of the modern world. Making our community a better place has always been an important part of our history, and our future.

2025 Golden Rule Gala nominations are now open for exceptional people and organizations involved in Rural Rescue. Every year thousands of animals are dumped in our rural communities. These communities often have scant resources to deal with this influx of unwanted animals. It is up to grassroots efforts and amazing volunteers to give these abandoned animals hope.

If you know of an exceptional organization or volunteer that tackles this community need, please nominate them for this award. Nominations close at 7pm on May 13, 2025
