Gun Safety Starts Here

Join Tarrant County 4-H and community partners for an important firearm safety class designed for youth and families. This program focuses on education, prevention, and responsible practices to help keep homes and communities safe.

Participants will learn about safe firearm storage, how to prevent unauthorized access, and how to respond if a child encounters a firearm. The class will also provide helpful resources, including information on free gun safety locks and how to start conversations about safety at home and in the community.

Date: August 24, 2026
Time: 6:30–7:30 PM
Location: Betsy Price Community Center, 8375 Blue Mound Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76131

Each family in attendance will be entered for a chance to win a handgun safe.

Junior Master Photographer Workshops 2026

📸✨ Calling All Future Photographers! ✨📸

Registration is now open for the 2026 Junior Master Photographer Workshops!

Youth will participate in a two-part workshop series focused on: 📷 Camera settings 📷 Composition 📷 Lighting 📷 Photography techniques

Upon completing both workshops, participants have the opportunity to earn their Junior Master Photographer Certification.

Dallas

📅 Workshop 1: September 26, 2026
📅 Workshop 2: December 5, 2026
📝 Registration: August 17 - September 15

Kerrville

📅 Workshop 1: November 7, 2026
📅 Workshop 2: November 8, 2026
📝 Registration: October 5 - October 30

⚠️ Space is limited and registration is first come, first served.

Youth must be enrolled in TX4H before registering for the workshop.

Tarrant County 4-H is partnering with the Quilts of Valor Foundation to create a handmade quilt that will be presented to a deserving service member.

There are two ways to participate:

✅ 4-H Youth with Sewing Experience Pick up a quilt block kit from the Tarrant County Extension Office during September and sew your block at home.

✅ Youth with No Sewing Experience Join us on October 4, 2026, at the Diamond Hill Community Center where sewing assistance will be available. Open to all youth in grades K-12. Current 4-H membership is not required.

Every stitch helps tell a story of gratitude and appreciation for those who have served our country.
