Reminder - Meeting tonight!

🐴 Calling all parents, coaches, equine professionals, and horse enthusiasts! 🐴

Help shape the future of the Tarrant County 4-H Equine Competition Team!

We're bringing together adults who are passionate about horses and youth development to help create a strong county-wide equine competition program. Whether you have experience coaching, volunteering, training, organizing events, or simply want to support local youth, we need your input and involvement.

🧵Tarrant County 4-H Youth Give Back One Stitch at a Time!

Our Quilt of Valor Service Project has been a wonderful example of youth, families, and community members coming together to honor our nation's veterans.

In September, several youth from five Tarrant County 4-H clubs participated in our "Pick Up a Block" project, completing 20 quilt blocks at home. Then on October 4, 25 participants (13 youth and 12 adults) gathered in person to learn sewing skills and finish the remaining quilt blocks!

A huge thank you to Diamond Hill Community Center and Fort Worth Park & Recreation for hosting this event. We are also incredibly grateful to Leilah B., Tarrant County Quilt of Valor Committee Chair, and the many dedicated adult volunteers who spent their afternoon teaching sewing skills and mentoring our amazing 4-H youth.

Through service, learning, and teamwork, these youth are helping create a handmade Quilt of Valor that will be presented to a deserving veteran.

🎉 Award-Winning Agricultural Literacy Program Recognized Nationally! 🎉

What happens when community partners come together to introduce urban youth to agriculture? National recognition!

The Stock Show Spotlight: Growing Agricultural Literacy for Urban Youth program was recently recognized at the National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) Conference, earning:

🥇 1st Place Southern Region Winner
🥈 2nd Place National Winner

This innovative partnership has helped connect Tarrant County youth with agriculture through hands-on experiences that explore livestock, food production, natural resources, and the rich traditions of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

By creating opportunities for youth to learn where their food comes from and how agriculture impacts everyday life, this program is helping build a stronger understanding of an industry that touches us all.

Thank you to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, Prairie View A&M Extension, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, and the many educators, volunteers, and community partners who make this work possible.
