Tracheomalacia care often starts with a pulmonologist, a doctor who specializes in the lungs and breathing. Because every childās needs are different, care may also involve a team of specialists such as an ENT (ear, nose, and throat doctor), pediatric surgeon, gastroenterologist (GI), and speech therapistāwho work together to support your childās airway, feeding, and overall health.
Many children outgrow tracheomalacia as they get older and their airway becomes stronger. For others, treatment may include medications, therapy, or surgery to help make breathing easier and keep the airway open.
No two journeys look the same, but with the right care team, support, and monitoring, families are not walking this road alone. š¤
