Grateful for the opportunity to join advocates from across the country in Washington, D.C. last week for Bread for the World’s Advocacy Summit.

It was an honor to represent our Eastside neighbors and elevate the voices of the families we serve in East Fort Worth. Access to nutritious food is foundational to health, and policies that strengthen food security and nutrition access have lasting impacts on communities.

Thank you to Bread for the World and the Health Foundation for creating opportunity for local leaders to engage directly with policymakers. Proud to ensure East Fort Worth has a seat at the table.

Through our partnership with Texas Health Community Hope, 63 East Fort Worth community members have already received vital health screenings—bringing care directly into a neighborhood long burdened by chronic disease and limited access to healthcare. Each screening represents more than a number; it is a moment where someone is seen, cared for, and given something all too often missed—early detection that can catch silent conditions before they become crises, interventions that can change a health journey already in motion, and prevention that offers the possibility of a different future.
