🌎 This April, Longhorn Council, Scouting America is launching our First Annual Earth Month Celebration!

We’re challenging Scouts, families, volunteers, and supporters to dedicate the entire month to conservation and service with a bold goal of 20,000 community service hours. From park cleanups and waterway restoration to recycling drives and habitat projects, every action makes a difference.

Scouts are also encouraged to take part in at least one special initiative:

♻️ Plastic Tide Turners Challenge
🗑️ Scouts Trash the Trash Day (May 2, 2026)

Earth Month is more than a project, it’s a movement to serve with purpose, protect our planet, and leave the world better than we found it.

I want to thank an amazing team that dedicated their free time over the past three years to work alongside me. Your commitment to offering the best possible program for our Scouters in the Longhorn Council has been truly inspiring.

To all the instructors, thank you for always giving a little extra so our Scouts could benefit from the knowledge shared with their leaders.

And last but certainly not least, thank you to all the participants who took the time to attend the Longhorn Council University of Scouting and made it a successful and memorable event.

A Scout deserves a trained leader, and because of your dedication, many more Scouts will continue to have just that.

I also wish our new Chancellor, David Shuford, great success in the coming years. You are in great hands!

🎓✨ Tomorrow is the Day! University of Scouting 2025 ✨🎓

We are excited to welcome you to the 25th Anniversary University of Scouting at Tarrant County College, Trinity River Campus in Fort Worth!

Here’s everything you need to know for your big day of learning, networking, and Scouting fun:

📅 Saturday, November 8, 2025
📍 Tarrant County College – Trinity River Campus, Fort Worth, TX

🕗 Schedule for the Day
8:00AM–9:00AM: Registration and Admin Desk open for questions
8:45AM–8:55AM: Opening Ceremony
9:00AM–12:00PM: Morning Classes
11:30AM–1:30PM: Lunch (available for purchase in cafeteria or bring your own). The Midway will be open!
12:00PM: Lunch period begins
1:00PM–4:00PM: Afternoon Classes
1:15PM: Degree applications due
4:00PM–4:45PM: Closing Ceremony featuring our Keynote Speaker and Doctoral Degree presentations
Patches and degree certificates may be picked up after the Closing Ceremony

8:00AM–2:00PM — Come meet our amazing exhibitors and learn about programs, resources, and adventures waiting for you!
