The speed ball isn’t easy.
It takes rhythm, training, coordination, and focus.

For someone living with Parkinson’s, those are the exact skills that are challenged every day, and exactly what we train.

This is what fighting back looks like🔥

Today we remember one of our longtime Punching Out Parkinsons’s fighters, Mr. Joe Browder. A member of POP since 2015.

For many years, he and his brother Jack stood side-by-side in our gym, both fighting Parkinson’s with courage and determination. They didn’t just attend classes, they became part of the heart of this program. Their presence reminded all of us what real strength looks like.

After his brother passed a few years ago, he continued the fight. Week after week Joe kept showing up, continuing the battle not only for himself, but in the spirit of the brother he lost.

He will always be remembered as part of the Punching Out Parkinson’s family.

Two brothers.
One fight.
Forever part of our corner.

Rest in peace sweet Joe💜🥊

Proud to see Punching Out Parkinson's recognized in TCU Magazine.

Grateful for the leadership of Paulie Ayala, the dedication of Dan Novak, and the lasting impact of Dr. Christopher Watts and Murray Zoota.

Though we’ve recently lost two incredible men, their influence continues in research, in our program, and in every fighter who walks through our doors every day💜🥊

TCU researchers are studying how noncontact boxing, a Mediterranean-style diet and storytelling can improve care for people with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. As the Baby Boomer generation ages, TCU – Texas Christian University is investing in research, training the next generation of health care workers and building community resources to meet a growing crisis.
