Today, we celebrate the demolition of the future **National Juneteenth Museum** and the incredible vision of its CEO, whose leadership is helping bring this historic project to life. This museum represents so much more tha,.a building — it represents the preservation of history, the power of community, and a commitment to educating generations to come about the significance of Juneteenth.
It was an honor for the **Neighborhood Association Steering Committee** to stand alongside the CEO and the National Juneteenth Museum team as we continue to explore how our neighborhood can support and collaborate with this transformative project.
Great things happen when visionary leadership and engaged communities come together. We are excited about the possibilities ahead and proud to be part of a partnership that can create a lasting impact on our neighborhood, our city, and beyond.
And what better time to celebrate than alongside the **100th birthday of Dr. Opal Lee**, the beloved “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose tireless dedication helped make Juneteenth a nationally recognized holiday. Her legacy reminds us that change begins with vision, perseverance, and people willing to believe in something bigger themselves. ❤️💚💛🖤
