DFW Alpha Presidents got an opportunity to connect, break bread, and just enjoy brotherhood.

As we prepare to go into our upcoming retreats and lead our chapters through the rest of 2026, this time together was ideal.

We are committed to doing the work of Alpha and ensuring the true essence of brotherhood remains strong. 🤙🏾

The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Beta Tau Lambda Chapter, mourn the loss of Ms. Jill Darden, founder of Fort Worth Black News.

In 1997, at just 23 years old, Jill founded Fort Worth Black News with a mission to inform and inspire readers through reports from the community. For nearly three decades, she gave voice to stories that too often went untold and ensured Fort Worth’s Black community was seen, heard, and celebrated.

Jill was also a steadfast supporter of Beta Tau Lambda, faithfully covering our chapter’s milestones and helping share our service to the Fort Worth community with readers across the city.

Her legacy of truth-telling, hope, and uplift will live on through every story she shared and every life she touched. We extend our deepest condolences to her son Jiles, her family, and the entire Fort Worth Black News family.

Today is the first day of early voting for your local uniform elections!

There’s a saying….. “All politics is local.”
What does that mean exactly?

Now is the time that you can vote for city council members, school board trustees, bond elections and city propositions throughout Tarrant County.

Here’s YOUR opportunity to choose the people or propositions that will address the local and immediate needs of you and your family.

We told you that 2026 was an important year for elections at every level. When we said “Every Voter Every Election”, we really meant it!!! Shoot us a DM if you have questions.

As we close out Black Maternal Health Week, the Beta Tau Lambda Chapter wanted to highlight two organizations doing strong advocacy work for Black Maternal Health right here in Fort Worth: Life with Tarniesha and Father with Pride.
TarNeisha A. Mukoko, a certified doula, supports families and mothers throughout Tarrant County.

Johnny Muhammad, an unsung Fort Worth champion for Black males, founded Father with Pride. Also a certified doula, Johnny focuses on supporting men through the birth journey. Developed through the BRAVE/R Together Maternal Health Initiative, he has touched the lives of hundreds of young men!

We are honored to financially pour into both organizations. To learn more, they will be participating in Momming and Mental Health, hosted by Life with Tarniesha and Intentional Hearts.
Fraternally,
