The vote to award FedEx a 5 year Conditional Use Permit was tabled until June 24th b/c CM Martinez is in Indonesia...so we will need you t show up on June 24th to protest and speak out against the CUP.

Protesters are fighting a permit application that would let FedEx park semi-trucks and trailers on a 9-acre lot in Southeast Fort Worth.

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE VICTORY!!

Fort Worth buys 7-acre truck lot for $3.4 million to keep warehouse out of neighborhood! This victory shows that public pressure works!

This would not have been possible without the countless hours put in by community members to pressure the city to prioritize our health and safety.

But the fight is not over!

We want to ensure the public, especially the surrounding community, has a say in the future use of that parcel. Public involvement is essential to the future of east Fort Worth and the community must be a part of the solution. Therefore, we are requesting the city hold community meetings to determine the future development on the parcel; whether that be expanding Eugene McCray Community Center, a park, low-income housing, single-family housing, or mixed use, that is up the adjacent community.

Many of the triggers for asthma are tied to the fallout of segregation and racism, experts say.

Yesterday, over 30 community members showed up and spoke to the Fort Worth city council to fight for environmental justice for EVERY person in Fort Worth.

We have advocated for a meeting with staff and council to have environmental justice issues addressed in the 2050 comprehensive plan since Fall 2023. We have sent over 3,000 letters, showed up to countless city council meetings, called hundreds of times and NO response until TONIGHT.

We will see how the Fort Worth city council and staff respond and IF they will actually follow through on meeting with the community and including our input in the 2050 Comprehensive Plan.

We will continue to fight for environmental justice. We believe that all Fort Worth residents have a right to fresh air, clean water, safe streets, and healthy neighborhoods. We will continue to hold city council accountable.
