Our friends at When We Love are in need of funds to purchase a new or gently used box truck to help them with serving our community. BOMA Fort Worth is donating $1,000 from our general community service funds and encourage you donate if you can. Donations are being matched - up to $25K - if donated by May 31.

For nearly two years, a single mother of three young children lived in survival mode—fleeing domestic violence, sleeping in her car, and moving between emergency shelters when space was available. She had no safe haven; her abuser knew where all her family and friends lived, making stability impossible and work unmanageable.

All she longed for was a home, a place where her children could heal, grow, and thrive.

Then, through a WhenWeLove outreach event, she learned about a life-changing partner program that offered childcare, employment assistance, and housing resources. She embraced the opportunity, worked tirelessly, and in just nine months, she landed a living-wage job with benefits.

The moment arrived—she and her children were finally getting their own home!

But then reality hit: “We have nothing,” she realized. No beds, furniture, towels, or dishes. How could she move her family into an empty apartment?

That’s where WhenWeLove’s Make-it-a-Home Program stepped in. Her case manager reassured her: “You’ve done the work to rebuild your life, and now, because of WhenWeLove, your home will be furnished with everything you need to truly make it yours.”

Tears of stress turned into tears of joy. Her children would not have to sleep on the floor. They would sit together for meals, relax in their living room, and finally start making new memories in a safe, stable home.

Her story is one of 760 families helped last year through Make-it-a-Home, receiving furniture, household essentials, cleaning supplies, and food.

This year, we planned to furnish 1,000 homes, but our box truck broke down, leaving us unable to make deliveries.
