🚧 Protect Highland Hills: Preserving Our Community from Unchecked Industrial Growth 🚧
For years, Highland Hills has faced the encroachment of industrial development that brings increased traffic, noise, and pollution to our neighborhood. As recently as nine years ago, Cole & Associates operated a concrete batch plant adjacent to us without being issued a permit by the City of Fort Worth. Despite already being surrounded by warehouses and industrial developments, we keep receiving ongoing proposals for more warehouses. Currently, nearly 500,000 sq. ft. of empty warehouse space exists nearby—yet, new developments keep emerging, including a proposed 400,000 sq. ft. warehouse on our perimeter. There are also rumors that Alcon plans to expand and infringe upon our neighborhood even more.
This unchecked expansion threatens our health, safety, and quality of life. Our community deserves better. We urge our elected officials to stand united with Highland Hills and advocate for environmental justice. A practical solution is implementing a moratorium on all industrial development within a two-mile radius of our neighborhood association boundaries.
