K9Nation has announced its Leadership Initiative encouraging Americans to participate in building the only nationwide total advocacy organization exclusively dedicated to our best animal friends—dogs and cats.

Our goal is to significantly alleviate cruelty, violence, pet overpopulation, and commercial exploitation by directly confronting their causes. What do you think should be done? Now is your opportunity to “pitch in and speak out” giving your ideas to build K9Nation’s foundation.

On October 9, 2012, human friends of our best animal friends will have the opportunity to come together right where they live in hometowns across the United States and beyond. With a goal of substantially impacting widespread suffering and killing of dogs and cats, this connection is the first step in a powerful, united effort that is long overdue.

Thanks to the “brainy bunch” at Meetup.com, and their innovative Meetup Everywhere platform, we all can easily get in touch with others who share our feelings. It’s easy, too, to spread the word and bring others in to help create and participate in solutions.

K9Nation’s “K9National Day of Response” Meetups are informal gatherings organized and hosted by anyone willing to help bring about change. In real life, we will voice our concerns, explore solutions, and lay the groundwork for the first nationwide organization of local K9Nation units (Kommunities) dedicated to confronting the conditions that cause our best friends to suffer.

K9Nation Has The Prescription for Curing the Disease of Cruelty

It’s a bitter pill to take, but it’s time we give the perpetrators and profiteers of cruelty some of their own medicine.

Stop injecting pentobarbital into the bloodstreams of dogs and cats; instead, inject it into the profit streams of puppy mills and other cruel commercial breeders. Think of the parent dogs and puppies that will be “put out of their misery” with newfound freedom and loving homes.

Instead of putting dogs and cats in gas chambers, let’s gather up all antiquated attitudes, and draconian kill policies from shelters across the country and kill those ideas instead.

New miracle drugs are always being invented. The 21st century’s K9Nation is just the medicine to end the suffering and deaths of innocent animals while relegating outdated treatments back to earlier, unenlightened times, before modern thinking.

K9Nation Receives IRS Approval for Tax-Exempt Status

The IRS has granted K9Nation International, Inc. tax exempt status, under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code, by October, 2011.

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity, K9Nation issues receipts for all Citizenship fees and donations to K9Nation, which are tax deductible by donors.

K9Nation’s Citizenship fee (considered by the IRS as a “membership” fee) falls within IRS guidelines for being tax exempt because we do not offer Citizens a monetary advantage.

It’s a momentous event that will significantly impact commercial exploitation of dogs, and cats too. A creative piece of legislation in Canada’s largest city tells pet stores that the only dogs and cats they can sell are those acquired from shelters and rescue groups. The humane people of Toronto responded to one of Canada’s worst cases of animal cruelty. More than 500 dogs suffering from skin and respiratory problems were rescued from a Quebec puppy mill.
