Pet architecture competitions raising funds & awareness for rescue animals 🐾 Adopt, donate, and celebrate design that saves lives!
(1)

Triangle Barkitecture was started in 2018 as a way to give back to the community while showcasing the talent of our local architects, designers, and creative minds all over the Triangle. Sponsored by AIA Triangle (American Institute of Architects), we have raised over $31,000 for local animal rescue organizations. Our Triangle Barktiecture events are held every year, and challenge designers to create unique, one-of-a-kind custom pet architecture that is auctioned off during the event and with proceeds going to our rescue partners. Triangle Barkitecture also holds special design competitions outside of our usual Barkitecture event, including Howl-o-Ween, a custom pet costume competition. We are proud to have worked with local animal rescue organizations including:, Hope Animal Rescue and Meow House Cat Rescue, Freedom Ride Rescue and Paw Prints Animal Rescue to help pets right here in the Triangle find loving homes.

So yeah, it rained some today. Rained donations 🐾🥳

The Triangle still had our back, leading to one of the largest one day totals in Barkitecture Events history with over $11,000 raised (and that’s not even counting direct rescue donations and food/litter donations).

That’s over $45,000 raised this year and…drumroll…over $204,000 lifetime raised.

And that’s all because of incredible architects and designers killing it every single year, amazing local rescues supporting us, incredible sponsors believing in us, and the best community that still shows up to see what it’s all about (rain and all)!

THANK YOU - we can’t wait to share more of the incredible day soon, but maybe we take a little rest first!

Rescue doesn't take rain days, neither do we! Barkitecture is TOMORROW - rain or shine (but we choose to shine) 🌞

Sure, you could sit at home doing nothing, but what are we going to tell all those adoptable pups and kittens that just wanted to see you??

Are you really going to let someone get an amazing deal on custom pet architecture and prizes while you watch it rain?

So...we cant wait to see you tomorrow!

We’re dying to know, what is your pet dressing up as for Howl-o-Ween this year?? 💀🎃

Enter the free pet costume contest at Triangle Barkitecture this year and have your little goblin show off as they strut down the black carpet.

Register for the competition at the Ashley booth on the main lawn on Saturday, October 10th at Downtown Cary Park.

Competition starts at 2:30pm - being late would be a grave mistake!

If there wasn’t already enough to be excited about, we’re also celebrating one year with the Barkitecture book! 📚🐾

We’ve had so much fun hearing about everyone’s favorite parts and seeing where the book has popped up in the wild! What’s your favorite part?

🐈 Did you know the book didn’t originally have cats?? We told our publisher that we just weren’t ‘feline’ that, so the cats made their return! Have any more questions about the process? We’d love to hear them!

The book is still available, so check the link in our bio or head your local book store. Be on the lookout for the event shirt and book bundle at this year’s Triangle Barkitecture!

Speaking of, want to see the hottest new pet architecture designs before they make the next one? Make sure to check us out at:

While we're sad to see Triangle Barkitecture preview week is coming to an end, we're excited to know we're one week closer to seeing all these builds in person!

To wrap up the week, here are with final 3 previews to get you excited! 3 more returning teams, all past award winners!

Hanbury is returning to this year's competition, teaming up with McConnell Studios for the Pawfee Table, reimaging the coffee table for a cat's secret passageway and cozy hideaway.

IA Interior Architects keeps the streak alive, never missing a Triangle Barkitecture competition! The Nest is an adaptable entryway storage solution for people and pets, designed to be flexible while able to fold up to conserve space.

REdesign.build is back this year with Pet Zero, a sustainable design using wooden pallets to minimize material waster so your pets will be stylish and green!

The field is set, who is your favorite to win Best in Show at this year's event? See you October 10th at Downtown Cary Park for Triangle Barkitecture!
