Triangle Barkitecture was started in 2018 as a way to give back to the community while showcasing the talent of our local architects, designers, and creative minds all over the Triangle. Sponsored by AIA Triangle (American Institute of Architects), we have raised over $31,000 for local animal rescue organizations. Our Triangle Barktiecture events are held every year, and challenge designers to cre

ate unique, one-of-a-kind custom pet architecture that is auctioned off during the event and with proceeds going to our rescue partners. Triangle Barkitecture also holds special design competitions outside of our usual Barkitecture event, including Howl-o-Ween, a custom pet costume competition. We are proud to have worked with local animal rescue organizations including:, Hope Animal Rescue and Meow House Cat Rescue, Freedom Ride Rescue and Paw Prints Animal Rescue to help pets right here in the Triangle find loving homes.

🐾 Meet the Rescues: Paws For Life NC Animal Rescue

Since 2002, Paws for Life NC has been a foster-based lifeline for dogs and cats — an all-volunteer team with one mission: save lives, give compassionate care, and help homeless animals find the families they deserve. Hundreds of animals move through their foster program every year, some healthy, some fighting just to survive. Either way, Paws for Life NC sees what an animal can become — not just its darkest moment.

That belief saved Julep. 🐾

Pulled from a shelter severely emaciated and critically ill, euthanasia was recommended. But she still had a tail wag left in her — enough for her foster family to say not yet. Weeks of round-the-clock care followed, then a lifesaving blood transfusion funded by the community around her. Today, Julep is thriving.

Paws for Life NC also runs SNIF, a low-cost spay/neuter voucher program helping reduce the number of animals who need rescuing in the first place.

Want to meet them in person? Paws for Life NC will be at Triangle Barkitecture on October 10th at Downtown Cary Park. Come meet their foster pups and cats, and learn how to foster, adopt, or support SNIF. 🏡

🐾 Meet the Rescues: Hope Animal Rescue

Hope Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue in North Carolina, dedicated to rescuing and re-homing the dogs who need it most while also helping community members keep the dogs they already have. They’re all-breed, all-age, with a special soft spot for medical-needs dogs, seniors, maternity dogs, and the ones too often passed over — bully breeds and chihuahuas especially.

That soft spot is exactly what saved Patch. 🐾

He came to a shelter at 9 months old, severely emaciated with skin issues so bad most of his hair had fallen out. Shelter staff nursed him back to health, and he found an adoptive home in January, only to be returned a month later, through no fault of his own. Going back to the shelter was hard on him, but the people who loved him fought for a second chance, and Hope Animal Rescue gave him one.

With time, patience, and a foster home that refused to give up, Patch has made a full recovery and is no longer the shut-down, emaciated dog he once was.

Hope receives no government funding, so every dollar comes from supporters like you, and since the organization is entirely volunteer-run, every donation goes straight to dogs like Patch.

Want to meet them in person? Hope Animal Rescue will be at Triangle Barkitecture on October 10th at Downtown Cary Park. Come meet their foster dogs, and learn how to foster, adopt, or donate. 🏡
