BRIDGE mourns the loss of Ms. Jill Darden, visionary founder of Fort Worth Black News and a steadfast supporter of BRIDGE’s mission to empower, connect, and elevate Black professionals.
In 1997, Jill established Fort Worth Black News with a bold mission to inform, inspire, and uplift the community through authentic storytelling. For nearly three decades, she remained deeply committed to ensuring the voices, accomplishments, and lived experiences of Fort Worth’s Black community were recognized, respected, and celebrated.
Jill was not only a tireless champion for Black excellence and community advancement, but also a dedicated advocate for BRIDGE and the work we continue to do throughout Fort Worth. Her support of our organization and belief in our mission helped amplify the importance of professional development, collaboration, and representation within our community.
Through her dedication to truth, empowerment, and progress, Jill elevated the stories of countless leaders, organizations, and changemakers. Her extraordinary legacy of journalism, service, and hope will continue to live on through every story she shared and every life she touched.
BRIDGE extends its heartfelt condolences to her son Jiles, her family, and the entire Fort Worth Black News family during this profound time of loss.
