Project Transformation Greater Tarrant A place for those who are interested in the mission of Project Transformation to connect to our ministry.

We are a chapter of Project Transformation located in the Horizon Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. The mission of Project Transformation is to engage young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, support children and their families in under-resourced neighborhoods, and connect churches to these communities. The easiest way to understand how we live out our mission is to remem

ber the 3 C's: College-aged Young Adults, Children, and Churches. College-aged Young Adults: Provide meaningful ways for young adults to explore ministry opportunities and develop as young adult leaders for the church and the world. Children: Meet the academic, physical, and spiritual needs of children in under-resourced neighborhoods. Churches: Help churches form new connections within the community.

Wow! The summer has flown by - it's hard to believe that camp ends next Thursday and the interns return home next Friday.

We are so grateful for all the dinner volunteers, reading volunteers, church staff, and community partners who helped make this all happen! 💚💚💚

In addition to it being Family Fun Night, where we celebrate all the relationships that were built, the love that was shared, and the growth that has occurred this summer, tomorrow is also PT Day of Giving.

Our Community Directors dedicate their summer to tending to the needs of the interns who lead our summer day camps. They plan weekly worship, community events, and morning devotionals. They provide a listening ear when days are tough, and they help coordinate intern meals and Friday Experiences. We are so blessed to have Jahson and Ka'Ryan serving as our Community Directors this summer.

We were so honored to have Miss Juneteenth DFW visit our McMillan camp site!

Miss Juneteenth talked with our campers about why Juneteenth is an important holiday. She also read Ms. Opal Lee's book about Juneteenth and then answered the children's questions about how she became Miss Juneteenth.

We also learned about her passion for reading and desire to share the gift of reading with others.

For today’s Friday Experiences, our interns had a conversation with Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District Superintendent, Dr. Joe Harrington, and learned about the ways the Sid Richardson Museum makes art accessible to children and families.

At the museum the interns even got to practice applying gold leaf to picture frames (and learned it’s not a technique that is easily mastered 😜)
