Germany’s first F-35A was officially unveiled at Lockheed Martin’s Fort Worth facility, marking the beginning of aircraft deliveries for Germany’s fleet of 35 F-35s.

Built here in Fort Worth, the aircraft represents another example of the global reach of our city’s aerospace and defense sector—and the highly skilled workforce behind it, and why Fort Worth is the Aviation and Defense Capital of Texas.

MP Materials has delivered its first rare-earth magnets to General Motors from its Independence facility at AllianceTexas. The Fort Worth operation has grown to more than 350 employees and is helping build a domestic supply chain for components used in vehicles and other advanced technologies.

From an investment announced just a few years ago to products now leaving the factory, MP Materials’ growth is another example of advanced manufacturing taking root in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth was at the table this week with a Czech Republic delegation including Dr. Jaroslav Knot, Member of the European Parliament for Czechia, as leaders explored opportunities across one of North America’s leading aerospace and advanced manufacturing hubs.

The Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, Fort Worth Mayor Pro Tem, Carlos Flores along with several partners, welcomed the delegation representing aerospace, defense, dual-use technologies, research and advanced manufacturing. Their visit focused on supplier partnerships, contract manufacturing, R&D collaboration, technology transfer and opportunities for future U.S. expansion.

Over two days, the delegation toured MTU Aero Engines Fort Worth, Cowboy Aerospace, Bell Flight and the of Texas at Arlington Research Institute (UTARI). The group also heard from the City of Fort Worth Economic Development, Texas A&M-Fort Worth and Fort Worth EDP Executive Vice President Jessica Heer about the assets, talent and industry expertise supporting business growth in the region.

By bringing global decision-makers directly into our business community, we can showcase the workforce, infrastructure and collaborative environment that give Fort Worth a genuine competitive advantage. Texas A&M-Fort Worth is already building on the momentum of its new downtown campus.

Plans are moving forward for a $33.5 million Virtual Production Institute, adding new studio, lab and classroom space for work including performance capture, mixed-reality environments and other virtual production technologies with applications across a range of industries.

With the new campus now open and additional investment already underway, Texas A&M–Fort Worth continues to expand its role in developing the talent and resources that will support Fort Worth’s future workforce.
