Allied Pilots Association (APA) President Captain Nick Silva lauded the Virginia General Assembly for ensuring that Virginia’s airline crew members receive paid sick leave protections, just like every other worker in the Commonwealth. Workers are now entitled to use accrued sick leave for personal health, family care, and safety services.

“APA would like to express its gratitude to the Virginia General Assembly for resisting industry pressure to exclude pilots and other crew members from these protections,” President Silva said.

It provides direction for a variety of scenarios, from a smoke/odor/fumes event or another critical incident to a personal crisis or a new medical condition. You can download a copy from the Aeromedical Committee’s page on AlliedPilots.org.
