The 2024 Momentum Early Learning Summit was a huge success! With 15 Texas regions and representation from state agencies, systems leaders, early learning centers, and advocacy organizations from across Texas, paved the way for building a state early learning system that everyone can agree upon.

Our state’s leaders said it themselves: The system is not working for families. Prekindergarten cannot reach all students by remaining only in school classrooms, early educators cannot continue making near poverty wages with no hope for career advancement, and community-based programs must become an integral part of our pre-k delivery system in order to stabilize the rising costs of infant/toddler care.

The attendees at the Momentum Summit responded to these issues by putting their heads together, listening and sharing expertise, and brainstorming potential systems solutions that everyone could get behind. Now comes finalizing our vision and coalescing efforts in the 89th Texas Legislative session to improve outcomes for children and families. As we look forward to continuing this work, remember that we CAN come together to make a difference—Momentum’s success is proof of that.

Momentum is mass in motion, and moving Texas forward will require continuous collaborative effort from all early learning leaders. We hope you will support us in keeping the momentum going!
