At just 7 years old, Diego* had already learned what it feels like to lose everything familiar.
What he hadn’t learned yet was that healing is possible — with the right support.
Through Intercept®, a program of Youth Villages, ACH helped reunite Diego and his mom and helped them find stability, the tools to heal, and hope during one of the most frightening moments of their lives. Their story is a powerful reminder that trauma doesn’t have to define the future.

We have an urgent need for donations for our summer camps happening right now.

Some of our campers joined last minute, and we’re currently short on a few key items — especially stuffed animals, hygiene kits, and blankets.

These may seem small, but to a child, they can mean comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging during their camp experience.

If you’re able to help, your donation today can make an immediate impact.

ACH can only accept new items.

After spending her childhood caring for her siblings amid instability, Semi’s path changed when she found consistent support at ACH. What began as loss became opportunity—through caregivers who provided structure, life skills and belonging.

Today, Semi’s success reflects what’s possible when young people are surrounded by unwavering support.

Hear Semi’s story in our award-winning podcast series, Counting on Us, and help us create more outcomes like hers.

Junior League Fort Worth knows the recipe for fun and they brought it to the kids at our Youth Emergency Shelter! It starts with a soda of their choice. Then comes the fun — adding cream, a variety of syrups and/or raspberry flavoring and cherries. The concoction makes a “dirty soda” and the kids loved it! Each one said theirs was the perfect mix… except for one who may have gone a bit overboard. Thanks to our Junior League volunteers who come each week to bring needed fun and socialization that our kids crave.

The Pat O’Neal Youth Emergency Shelter is the only one of its kind in Tarrant County, serving ages 5-17 who are runaways, homeless or being exploited or trafficked. ACH works quickly to reunite them with their families or find alternatives when it’s not safe to do so.
