SAN ANTONIO – (Aug. 22, 2026) – Past Masters of San Antonio Lodge No. 1 presented a plaque of appreciation to the JC Cares Foundation at the conclusion of the JC Cares Charity Golf Invitational held at the La Cantera Golf Club. JC Cares Foundation served as a Gold Sponsor of the Lodge’s Sesquicentennial Anniversary. The JC Cares Foundation is dedicated to empowering underserved youth and communities through education, opportunity, and outreach. Founded by NBA Champion Jordan Clarkson, its mission is to uplift lives locally and globally by funding local & community military causes, scholarships, supporting youth development programs, and providing relief to those in need. 🕯️ MASONIC MONDAY

The Working Tools Mean Nothing If We Never Use Them

Freemasonry gives us symbols.

It gives us lessons.

It gives us working tools.

But none of them mean anything if they remain only in the Lodge room.

The Square teaches us to deal fairly.

The Compasses remind us to govern ourselves.

The Level teaches equality.

The Plumb reminds us to remain upright.

The Trowel teaches us to strengthen the bonds between Brothers.

The Beehive teaches us that every man has work to do.

But knowing the lesson is not the same as living it.

A Square hanging on a wall cannot make a dishonest man fair.

A Plumb cannot straighten a life unless the man holding it is willing to make the correction.

A Trowel cannot build Brotherhood if pride keeps us divided.

And no working tool can improve a man who has decided he no longer needs to work on himself.

💡 60 Seconds of Light

This Monday, ask yourself:

“Which Masonic lesson do I know well—but still need to practice better?”

Maybe it is patience.

Maybe it is discipline.

Maybe it is forgiveness.

Maybe it is service.

Maybe it is simply learning to listen before speaking.

The purpose of the Craft is not to collect symbols.

It is to allow those symbols to shape the way we live.

Know the tools.
Understand the lessons.
Then put them to work.

Because Masonry is not only something we attend.

It is something we practice.

Putting Service Into Action!

The Brothers of J. Washington Lodge No. 191 had the opportunity to deliver backpacks and school supplies to Seguin ISD, helping make sure local students have some of the tools they need for a successful school year.

This is what community service looks like to us, finding a need, showing up, and doing our part. We’re proud to continue extending our service beyond Cibolo and into the surrounding communities.
