Post from Kylie: Half of my life I have been faced with type 1 diabetes. Today marks 7 years! I can't believe it has been this long. It seems like yesterday I was hooked up to monitors, being poked with needles and stuck in a hospital bed for several days. It was then when my life changed forever. I have fought the bad days and rejoiced in the good.

I have set a goal asking my friends, family and support group to join my team and raise $700 within the next 7 days in honor of my 7 year diaversary. Let's turn type 1 into type none! Share this status to spread the word.

I just pooped my pants. Kylie's CGM yelled at me LOW. Says she is 39. I ran upstairs with meter and two juice boxes and checked with meter. 139! WTH. 100 points off. So now I have to calibrate a second time because the number was so far off. I don't know if I should throw this pediatric CGM across the room or kiss the meter. Phew.

At endo with Kylie and her A1c is 6.9. Average BG of 145.

A lot has happened since we started this page. Our goal was to have a service dog for Kylie but little did we know our world would flip upside down when we chose the wrong organization. Service dogs by warren retrievers has several lawsuits out, over 30 complaints with the attorney general and multiple unsuccessful stories. We were one of them. Beta never worked out to become a service dog for Kylie because she was so fearful she became aggressive and starting biting people. The organization which was suppose to help her ended up losing her or stealing her according to the police records that were filed. We asked the organization for our money back but they declined. For two years I had much hate for the owner of this organization for everything he put my family through. It took me a long time to release that anger.

I quit posting updates on Kylie and we stopped focusing on this page. Now that I am longer angry and have moved on, I would like to change this page to help educate those interested in a service dog and raise awareness for T1 diabetes.

I will post Kylie's achievements, struggles and adventures regarding her life with diabetes.

Kylie's average blood sugar was in the 230's (A1c of high 7) during this whole process but now we have become dependent on a continuos glucose meter (CGM). We are able to micromanage her corrections helping her to stay in range. We have reduced her A1c to 6.2 just because of her CGM and better care along with knowledge.

Here us the story NBC did regarding the organization where we got Beta. My goal is to educate and spread to word to those who are interested in a service dog. just to give you a background on my dog, she was brought to me fearful and has bitten people. She is retired and does not go in public. Within a 6 month time frame she saw 5 of their trainers (suppose to see 1 every 3months) and was even taken back to the farm for rehabilitation. While at the farm, they "lost" her and she was missing for three weeks. We agreed to stop payments until beta was rehabilitated. This never happened. After we found Beta, the organization dropped us from support groups and never contacted us to continue training.

Several North Texas families say the service dogs they got from an out-of-state nonprofit are nothing more than expensive house pets.

At 10pm tonight on NBC a story will be aired about the organization that I got Beta from. This organization have me a dog that was not fit to become a service dog yet they still delivered her to me. From the beginning we had issues with Beta being fearful and biting people. She went to the farm for additional training however they "lost" her and Beta was missing for three weeks. We have no clue what conditions she was in during this time. Before Beta went for additional training the organization agreed we would discontinue payments until Beta was rehabilitated. Since then the organization has kicked me out of support groups and stopped all training. I have had two additional organizations evaluate her to inform us Beta was too bad off to be rehabilitated and would never be a service dog. An additional trainer told us Beta would never be happy unless she was heavily sedated on anxiety medication. This organization will say that I am the reason my dog doesn't work yet I know the truth. They will also say we didn't turn in progress reports yet I sent them in for three months until Beta's anxiety was too much to even work on service dog related training. At that time my main concern was being able to keep Beta in the house without pooping every where because she was too scared to go outside. The head trainer told me that if anything happened to Beta, I could so here I am spreading the word. Please so your research before you pick a diabetic alert dog organization.

I am asking for your help. The organization that "lost" beta took another dog from a family. This family is asking for donations to retain a lawyer and fight Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers in order to not only get Chewy back but also to prevent this from happening to another family. Even if it's $10 every little bit helps. And please share this post to get the word out. This four year old type one needs his DAD back.

Evan was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on October 9th, 2011. Within a couple months of his diagnosis, things turned for the worse very quickly. It was impossible to get a handle on his crazy blood sugars. Since I am also a type 1 myself, the stress was causing my health to decline. My husband an...
