Our annual Crowley ISD summer enrichment program was another reminder of what happens when young people are given the space to create, express themselves, and believe in their own potential.

We watched students step up, collaborate, take creative risks, and discover new strengths along the way. Moments like these are exactly why this work matters.

We’re grateful to Crowley ISD for continuing to welcome Maroon 9 into their community and for helping us create meaningful experiences for students. ❤️

A special thank you to Tarrant County Precinct 1 Commissioner Roderick Miles Jr. for his investment in our youth and support of Maroon 9’s summer programming! ❤️

His support helped provide scholarships for youth to participate in our summer programming, removing financial barriers and giving more young people access to experiences that build confidence, communication, creativity, and leadership.

I’m also grateful to have been invited to speak at the upcoming Inaugural Miles Forward Jazz Breakfast about community outreach and the work happening across our community. The morning will celebrate service, leadership, and impact, including special recognition of David Mann and Congressman Marc Veasey.

Thank you, Commissioner Miles, for investing directly in the work happening in our community and helping create greater access and opportunity for our youth. We appreciate your partnership and commitment to the next generation! 🙌🏾

We have exciting news to share! 🎉
Maroon 9 has been selected as one of 8 finalists for the 2026 Local Lift Social Innovation Pitch Competition, hosted by United Way of Tarrant County!

Local Lift supports nonprofits, social entrepreneurs and small business owners working on ideas around financial security, community health, youth opportunity and community resiliency — and we're honored to be part of this year's cohort.

Over the next eight weeks, we'll be sharpening our idea, learning from expert mentors, and connecting with other local changemakers.

We'll be pitching live in November during Global Entrepreneurship Week for a shot at a share of $75,000 in funding to help bring this work to even more people who need it. Follow along as we go through this journey.

Last week, our finalists kicked off 12 weeks of coaching, collaboration and pitch preparation. Along the way, they’ll sharpen their pitches, learn from one another, and explore new opportunities to grow their work and expand their impact.

Their work spans some of our community’s biggest priorities, including financial security, community health, youth opportunity and community resiliency.

Then in November, during Global Entrepreneurship Week, they’ll take the stage to pitch their work and compete for a share of $75,000 in seed funding.

We’re excited to cheer them on as they take their work to the next level! Thank you to SCORE Mentors for mentoring this year’s finalists and TechFW for providing programming to help them prepare. Stay tuned as we follow them along on their journeys.

There’s something powerful about hearing a parent reflect on who their child has become. ❤️

At our Senior Recognition Lunch, Ty shared what it has meant to watch her daughter, Addyson, grow through her journey with Maroon 9.

In 2023 Addyson was one of the young performers who took the stage in our very first production at Jubilee Theatre. Years later, we had the privilege of celebrating her as a graduating senior — now headed to Grambling State University on a dance scholarship. 🎓✨

That full-circle moment is what this work is about.

The performances matter. The applause matters. But what matters most is who our young people are becoming along the way — confident, disciplined, creative young adults who are prepared to take what they’ve developed beyond the stage and into the next chapter of their lives.

And behind every young person is a family that has trusted us, encouraged them, driven them to rehearsals, sat in the audience, and believed alongside us. Ty and Addyson are part of the Maroon 9 story, too.

As we celebrate 10 years of Maroon 9, we’re honoring families like theirs and dreaming about how many more young people we can walk alongside in the decade ahead.
