We are closing out our board recognition series with a very special shoutout to Alex Holder '26! 💜

Alex is a Clark Society Scholar who has served as the Student Government Association Speaker and as a professional development coach in the Neeley School of Business. As our student representative on the Clark Society Board, Alex brought a fresh and inspiring perspective to everything she contributed. She graduated with a BBA in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration and heads off to law school this fall.

We cannot wait to see all that is ahead for you, Alex.

This is exactly what the Clark Scholarship is all about. Clark Scholars are selected not only for their academic excellence, but for their commitment to making a real impact in their communities. Katie embodies that spirit in every way, and we cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes. 💜

Congratulations to Katie Hoang ’26 on being selected as a Fulbright Scholar.

For Hoang, this prestigious honor is a deeply personal milestone. As the daughter of Vietnamese immigrants, she will return to her family’s homeland to connect with local communities through education, food and conversations centered on culture and economic development.

Following her Fulbright experience, Hoang will kickstart her professional career in Austin, Texas, joining Alpine Investors as a private equity analyst.

She says she looks forward to using this global opportunity to deepen her cultural identity and broaden her understanding of international markets.

The Fulbright program provides students, scholars, scientists, professionals, teachers and artists with life-changing opportunities to study, research and teach in over 160 countries and territories.

We're giving Clark Society an early look at something exciting!

This spring, the Clark Society Board selected two recipients for the 2026-2027 Clark Society Endowed Faculty Fund Award: Dr. Charlotte Hogg and Dr. Mikaela Stewart.

Dr. Hogg will bring students together with dementia caregivers through "Writing Respite," a community-engaged project centered on the healing power of writing. Dr. Stewart will use VR headsets and Nanome software to immerse students in 3D molecular visualization for NIH-funded cancer research and K-12 outreach.

Mr. Mike Harrison was the kind of donor who handed over a check for millions with six words: "Just do something good with this."
No fanfare. No conditions. Just trust and love for TCU.

Members of the TCU – Texas Christian University and TCU Alumni - Worldwide community mourn the loss of Mike Harrison ’64, who died April 30 at 84.

A West Texas businessman and devoted Horned Frog, Mike and his wife, Brenda, gave $10 million in 2019 to establish the Brenda and Mike Harrison Endowed Scholarship Program, a permanent scholarship for students from middle-income families. Hundreds have benefited since.

Their lead gift to TCU Athletics’ Human Performance Center project was recognized in 2025 with the Mike & Brenda Harrison Football Performance Center. TCU’s administration building, The Harrison, also bears their name, though Mike characteristically had to be persuaded to allow the honor.

Those who knew him said his priorities were simple: God, family and TCU, in that order.

The TCU flag outside Sadler Hall flies at half-staff today in his memory.
