🎒💜💛 WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2026 COMO COMMUNITY BACK-TO-SCHOOL EXTRAVAGANZA! 💛💜🎒

We’re excited to welcome our Como families Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Como Community Center, 4660 Horne St., Fort Worth, TX 76107!

We want everyone to know what to expect when you arrive so you can plan to enjoy the FULL event with us!

📋 CHECK-IN & REGISTRATION
When you arrive, parents/guardians will complete a registration form for their family. You will receive a form that will be used to verify your participation throughout the event.

📚 FOUR REQUIRED SESSIONS
Families must participate in ALL FOUR sessions in order to receive backpacks and school supplies.

Our schedule will include:

🕥 10:30–11:00 AM — Session 1
🕚 11:00 AM–12:00 PM — Session 2: Fort Worth ISD Listening Session
🍽️ 12:00–12:30 PM — Lunch
🕧 12:30–1:00 PM — Session 3
🕐 1:00–1:30 PM — Session 4
🎒 1:30–2:00 PM — Backpack & School Supply Giveaway

✅ After each required session, your form will be signed/initialed to verify attendance.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: All four sessions must be completed before your family will be eligible to receive backpacks and school supplies. Families will not be able to arrive only for the backpack giveaway and receive supplies.

Our goal is not only to help our students start the school year with the supplies they need, but also to provide our families with valuable information, resources, and opportunities that can help our children succeed throughout the school year.

Please plan to arrive on time, stay for the entire event, participate, learn, enjoy lunch with us, and then end the day by getting our students ready for a successful school year! 💜💛

🚨 Community Notice 🚨

As we get closer to the 4th of July, you will notice an increased police presence throughout the community to help keep everyone safe during the holiday festivities.

Please be advised that law enforcement is actively enforcing traffic laws and will be confiscating unauthorized dirt bikes, ATVs, and other unregistered/off-road motorcycles being operated on public streets.

Let's all do our part to have a safe and enjoyable holiday by following the law, driving responsibly, and looking out for one another.

We are beyond honored and excited that the College Dorm Kit Program was selected to represent Lake Como on the national stage.

While Como Lions Heart is proud to lead this program, this recognition is about so much more than our organization. It is about the Lake Como community. It is about our students who take that next step toward higher education. It is about the families who support them, the volunteers who give their time, the donors who believe in our youth, and the community that continues to invest in their future.

The College Dorm Kit Program was created to help ease the transition from high school to college by providing students with essential items they need as they begin this new chapter of life. More importantly, it lets our young people know that their community believes in them and is cheering them on every step of the way.

To have the opportunity to showcase this program nationally is truly special because it shines a light on the incredible things happening in Lake Como every day. It highlights the heart of our community, our commitment to education, and our belief that every student deserves support as they pursue their dreams.

This recognition belongs to every student who signed up, every volunteer who packed a dorm kit, every donor who contributed, and every person who continues to pour into the next generation.

Lake Como has always been rich in talent, resilience, and community pride. We are grateful for the opportunity to share that story with others.

Congratulations, Lake Como. This moment belongs to all of us.
