Join us for an Open House at the Ridglea Giving Garden to learn more about this well-established and productive community garden located at Ridglea Christian Church. Leaders of the garden will be on site giving tours, answering questions and sharing the story of the garden space.

Sunday, June 2nd from 11am-1pm - OPEN HOUSE

The Ridglea Giving Garden (RGG) is located on a ¼ acre lot in a residential neighborhood in West Fort Worth. It began in January 2024, when its team of care takers took it over from what was formerly the Tarrant Area Food Bank Learning Garden.

The RGG is transitioning to a production garden that grows healthy food for our neighbors in need. All of the produce is donated to WestAid and other local food pantries. A large compost area is using regenerative practices and partnering with Compost Carpool to save food scraps and plant waste from the landfill and creating rich compost for the garden. Made Greene, a company that adds and supports gardens in local schools also has a presence in the RGG. Twice weekly workdays are well attended and corporate workdays have added to the vital group of volunteers.

The RGG depends on donations and grants to keep growing.

We look forward to welcoming you to the open house to tour our garden and compost area and learn about all of the wonderful crops that are growing!

For some time now, TCFPC's Community Gardens and Urban Agriculture Working Group has been wanting to host tours of local community gardens and urban farms. Our goals are both educational and social: share good gardening & farming practices, and encourage networking among participants.

Our first event in the series will be happening:
Sunday, December 11
2:00-4:00pm
Hollow Trace Market Farm in Azle, tour led by farmer-owner Becca Knutson

Because this is a small farm, and parking and bathroom facilities are limited, this event is strictly limited to no more than 20 attendees.

Tickets for this tour cost $20.00. Half of that donation will go to the farmer to reimburse her for her time, and half will provide seed money for TCFPC CGUA's Good Grower Grants Program, which will provide limited application-based funding for local community gardens & urban farms that feed underserved populations. (Scholarships for low-income participants are available; Please reach out to [email protected].)
