As many of you may or may not know on April 20, 2019 I received a telephone call letting me know that Harvest United Methodist Church kicked Troop 18 out and wanted to no longer be associated with the troop. It has been a very long and uphill battle trying to find a new sponsor and get the troop's belonging from Harvest United Methodist Church. We have been unable to retrieve our belongings from the church. As time passes the old Scout Hut sits on the church's property not being utilized. I occasionally drive by it from time to time and remember all the great times we had as a troop there. This evening while I was out running some late night errands with my wife I decided to drive by the Scout Hut. To both of our surprise it was lite up. We thought it was being used. Low and behold we drove up and discovered that it had been broken into again. This will be the 4th time in a year that it has been broken into. I got out of the car because I noticed something odd about it from the street,. I got out and took pictures of the hut. I am sick to my stomach as to what I saw because the troop has been unable to retrieve the belongings from the building. There is several decades of memorabilia in the building. It has been destroyed from the inside. I am so mad and upset right now that I am going to stop this post now.

You can take the boy out of Scouts but you can’t take the Scout out of the boy! Two of my assistants hang hammocks during lunchtime behind our office building in Southlake to take a nap.

Family night is tomorrow at camp Trevor Rees-Jones. Then the boys come home Saturday. I hear they are having a good time and I pray for their safe return.
